Irvington softball team has banner season

IRVINGTON – The Irvington High School varsity softball team enjoyed a fine season this past spring.

The Lady Blue Knights, under first-year head coach Shirlyn Shirley, clinched the Super Essex Conference-Independence Division championship, going 12-0 in the division.

The following IHS players made All-SEC-Independence Division:
First Team: Dericka Riley, pitcher. Chiquela Dennis, catcher. JoiNay Carr, oufielder.

Second Team: Tyzhane Lassiter, infielder. Leana Thompson.
Honorable Mention: Nikiyah Simpson.

IHS baseball players make All-SEC team
The Irvington High School varsity baseball team boasted several players who made All-SEC-Independence Division. Ola Fadojutimi and Chris Perez each made First Team; Ibn Deloach made Second Team and Luis Corbalan made Honorable Mention.
