Glen Ridge HS softball team tops Technology to improve to 6-3

GLEN RIDGE, NJ – The Glen Ridge High School softball team defeated Technology, 17-0, April 13, in Newark to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Ava Rollo had two hits and three RBI and Ali Cerruto and Taylor Townson each had two hits and two RBI to lead the Ridgers. Olivia Link and Lizzie Wiede each drove in two runs. Cerruto pitched a five-inning two-hitter with four strikeouts.

In the previous day, the Ridgers defeated Payne Tech, 7-6, at Glenfield Park field. The Ridgers scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win after scoring three runs in the sixth to tie it 6-6. Townson had three hits, including a triple, and three RBI, and Sarina Robik had two triples.

Earlier in the week, GRHS defeated Barringer, 6-5, April 10, in Newark. Elizabeth Komorowski had two hits and an RBI; Hannah O’Connor had two hits and Rollo had two RBI. GRHS fell to MKA, 7-3, April 11.
