



IRVINGTON, NJ – Irvington High School senior Lancine Turay has given an oral commitment in acceping a football scholarship to the University of North Carolina. Turay, a defensive end, was one of several standout players for the Blue Knights, who won the North Jersey Super Football Conference-Freedom White Division title and reached the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 state playoffs before finishing with an 8-3 record. He is the third IHS senior to accept a football scholarship to a Division 1 program, joining wide receiver Jasiah Provillon, who committed to North Carolina State University, and defensive back Jason Antwi, who committed to Monmouth University.
