UPDATED: Irvington HS boys track and field team wins Jimmy Smalls meet title at Hillside

IRVINGTON, NJ – The Irvington High School boys track and field team won the Jimmy Smalls Invitational held at Phil Rizzuto Stadium in Hillside April 13.

IHS first place finishers

800-meter sprint medley relay: Peterson Francois, Emmanuel Abarah, Dwight Henry, Jared Manifold, 1:37.1.

4×100 relay: Francois, Manifold, Matthias Litus, Henry, 44.0.

4×200 relay: Manifold, Litus, Abarah, Henry, 1:32.2.

Distance medley: Adrian Kpodo, Daniel Gonzalez, Wilfrantz Therzy, Desmond Marfo, 12:35.

Other place finishers

Long jump: Fourth place, Teon Dundas and Litus.

Discus: Second place, Tyrice Evans and Dundas.

4×800: Marfo, Cordell Litus, Therzy, Kpodo, 8:49.

The Blue Knights also won a dual meet April 16 at IHS. The boys defeated STEM Civics Center, 88-18. The girls defeated St. Mary’s Assumption, 99-1, and STEM Civics Center, 87-15.

At the Bulldog Relays April 20 at Shabazz Stadium, the boys team finished third overall.

Swedish Relay, second place

At a dual meet April 22, the boys team defeated West Side, 98-16, and East Side, 105-7, to remain undefeated at 8-0, while the girls defeated West Side, 93-18, and East Side, 107-3, to improve to 7-2.
