IRVINGTON, NJ – Irvington High School track and field standout Dwight Henry enjoyed a fine finish at the NJSIAA NJSIAA State Meet of Champions at Northern Burlington HS in Columbus on June 8.
Henry, a junior, finished in ninth place in the boys 200-meter dash finals in a season-best 21.87. Henry was ranked No. 17 in the event. He just missed earning a medal. The top eight finishers in event earned a medal.
Henry was the lone iHS competitor at the meet.
The IHS boys track and field team will send a contingent to the New Balance Nationals at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C. June 13-16. The athletes are Henry (110 high hurdles, Emerging Elite Division), 800-meter sprint medley consisting of junior Peterson Francois, sophomore Matthias Litus, Henry, and junior Jared Manifold (Emerging Elite), and 1,600-meter sprint medley consisting of Henry, Litus, Manifold and senior Desmond Marfo (Emerging Elite).
