MAPLEWOOD, NJ — South Orange-Maplewood Adult School will present “Classical Piano Music Appreciation: A Duet” on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Room C237 at Columbia High School, 17 Parker Ave. in Maplewood.
Music for one piano, four hands, joins together two people who enjoy the challenge of sitting side by side, sometimes crossing hands, breathing in unison and producing a complex sound on one instrument. Karina Bruk, a professional musician, and Janet Armuth Wolkoff, a serious amateur, will perform and discuss highlights from the extensive duet literature written for the piano. Among other composers, they will play selections by Mozart, Brahms, Grieg and Rachmaninoff.
