ORANGE, NJ — This fall, four local art institutions — Arts Unbound in Orange, SOPAC in South Orange, The Pierro Gallery at the Baird in South Orange and Valley Arts in Orange — will mount interrelated exhibitions in which artists give voice to some of the sizeable issues that are informing the November presidential election.
Arts Unbound will present “Politico: Access Ability,” an exhibition exploring the politics around the often under-recognized issues that impact people living with disabilities of the body or mind, including issues such as lack of access and inclusion in education, employment, housing, transportation, health care, civic life and social life.
Artists are invited to submit work in any medium that aesthetically represent, relate to or are inspired by the politics and public policies that affect people with disabilities.
The exhibit will begin with an opening reception on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. To submit artwork, visit the Arts Unbound website or email Celene Ryan at [email protected]. For submission requirements, visit the website or call 973-675-2787.
