WEST ORANGE, NJ — Get ready to howl with laughter as the popular children’s musical, “The Big Bad Wolf,” is presented in the Fellowship Hall at United Presbyterian Church, 20 Old Indian Road, West Orange. Performances of the one-act musical will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning at 3 p.m.
The Big Bad Wolf, backed by his two faithful Wolfettes, is on trial and the audience is the jury that decides his fate. Enter Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, the prosecutor in this class-action suit representing the plaintiffs: the Boy Who Cried Wolf and his Shepherdess mother, Little Red Riding Hood and her Granny, the Woodsman who saved them from the Big Bad Wolf, and the Three Little Pigs. Although she dislikes “pro bono” work, the Evil Stepmother is the Big Bad Wolf’s defense attorney. The courtroom is presided over by an unusual judge with a penchant for magic beans. Sydney Grimm, a reporter from Enchanted Forest News Live Court TV, is there to cover all the action, which heats up just before the verdict with a big revelation from Little Miss Muffet.
Is the wolf guilty? Does he deserve punishment or is he a victim of circumstance? You might be surprised.
A nominal admission fee will be charged, though all children attending in a fairy tale costume will be admitted free of charge. Adults in costume will received a discount. For more information, call 973-951-6939.
