Clara Maass to host 5K at Turtle Back Zoo

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Hosted by the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation, the “Life is Better Healthy 5K Fun Run and Walk” returns to picturesque Turtle Back Zoo at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange, according to a recent release. Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. will serve as event honorary chairman and and WABC-TV Eyewitness News anchor Ken Rosato will be master of ceremonies.

Taking place Sunday, Sept. 18, with registration and warm-up beginning at 8:30 a.m., the event will benefit pediatric services at Clara Maass Medical Center. After the event, participants can also get up close and personal with animals at the petting zoo, or take a tranquil ride through South Mountain Reservation on a mini train. Parking and admission to the zoo is free for all registrants. The run will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and the walk 15 minutes later. The zoo is located at 560 Northfield Ave. in West Orange.
