Don’t miss interACT Youth’s production of ‘The Jungle Book’

The cast of interACT Youth’s production of Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ prepares for the curtain to go up on their show.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — This December, interACT Youth Productions presents the beloved Disney classic, “The Jungle Book.” The show runs for two weekends at the Baird Theatre on Three, opening this Friday, Dec. 1, and closing Sunday, Dec. 10, for eight performances total.

Friday and Saturday night performances begin at 7 p.m., and the Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets online at a discount at interactproductions.tix.com or at the box office starting one hour before the show. Tickets cannot be purchased by phone.

“The Jungle Book” is the story of a boy abandoned to the jungle, Mowgli, who must learn to find his place within the longstanding community of animals. Taught by Baloo the bear, Bagheera the black panther and Akela the old wolf, Mowgli is enlightened with the sacred master words of the hunting people.

This production features two alternating casts. The Wolfpack Cast is composed of Madison Gough, Declan Cavanaugh, Delia Kravits, Skylar Smith, Zoe Zaslow-Braverman, Nola Sigmund, Eliana Brenden, Aidan Harn-Flood, Nathan Averbouhk, Alanya Friedman, Sammy Daley, Jasper Woods, Henry Bass, Anabel Mrks, Kate Jerkovich, Mary Olasore and Scarlett Choi. The Monkey Troop Cast is composed of Sophie Glenn, Asher Kaminsky, Aidan Roberto, Emma Kosik, Lily Hawryluk, Gideon Johnson, Ruby Luhrman, Felicia Abbass, Emma Shamburg, Zach Urist, Maya Kurschner, Lauren Kasdan, Kennedy Robertson, Mackenzie Robertson, Ezra Kaminsky, Jonah Kürschner, Molly Bigelow, Haley Kampner and Finn Goring.

The production is directed by Tasha R. Williams with musical direction by Jake Ezzo, stage managed by Amanda M. Wingo and produced by Meara Franowicz. Rounding out the crew are set constructors Conor and Shane McCarthey, lighting designer Sarah Stolnack, sound board operator Jayce Burgos, and publicity and media team Sabrina Santoro and Mark J. Parker.
