MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Hundreds of people came to The Woodland in Maplewood on March 4 to celebrate the Lunar New Year and usher in the Year of the Dog. The Lunar New Year is celebrated by many Asian cultures as a time to bond with your family, respect your ancestors and bring in the new year with hopes for good luck, happiness, health and prosperity. Lunar Fest NJ was organized by SOMA Cross-Cultural Works and the Maplewood Office of Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
