MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Columnist and cookbook author Mark Bittman will be speaking and signing copies of his newest cookbook, “How To Bake Everything,” at Words Bookstore in Maplewood on Thursday, Oct. 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Bittman will be joined in conversation with food critic and writer Peter Meehan.
Bittman is a former New York Times columnist who covered agriculture, food policy, health and the environment, and whose core message — that food has the power to make or break not only one’s personal health but that of the planet — is increasingly accepted and broadcast widely. His body of work spans all media with print and Web columns, videos, interviews, TV appearances and shows. He’s a regular on the “Today Show” and has hosted four TV series, including Showtime’s Emmy Award-winning climate change documentary, “Years of Living Dangerously.”
Book purchase is required to attend this event. Preregistration is strongly encouraged and all books ordered through Oct. 5 will receive a 20-percent discount. Books can be purchased at Words at 179 Maplewood Ave., online at wordsbookstore.com or by phone at 973-763-9500.
