LIVINGSTON, NJ — Ellen Hanauer, a West Orange native and resident of Livingston for more than 30 years, has an upcoming solo exhibition at the historic artist colony Montsalvat in Melbourne, Australia. This edition of laser-printed anatomical mandalas on paper is part of the SciArt work she has been creating for more than 25 years. Additional laser prints from this series will be on exhibition at Sofia Tech Park for its third International Biomedical Congress in Sofia, Bulgaria. She received the First Theoretical Art Award, a monetary honorarium from Oxford University, England, for one of her anatomical laser prints.

AtlantiCare Foundation recently commissioned two 12-foot fiber art installations for their newly established Manahawkin location and Tarpon Springs, Fla., recently installed Hanauer’s powder-coated steel bike racks at its dog park. The town of Huntington on Long Island is preparing to install films of her digital illustrations this spring of 2018. Hanauer’s local commissions include the outdoor mural at West Orange Public Library and her mural on the West Orange jitney shuttle to three train stations. Hanauer currently teaches sculpture and ceramics classes at the JCC Metrowest in West Orange.
