SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Local author Elly Lonon will appear at the South Orange Public Library, 65 Scotland Road, on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss her graphic novel “Amongst the Liberal Elite: The Road Trip Exploring Societal Inequities Solidified by Trump (RESIST).”
Lonon will discuss the process of creating her satirical graphic novel, published in October by powerHouse Books, which she wrote in collaboration with art designer Joan Reilly and was based on her successful column in McSweeney’s.
The story follows romantic partners Alex and Michael, who use their tax refund to reconnect with their fellow Americans via a cross-country road trip and try to understand how Donald Trump won the 2016 election.
This event is free and open to the public.
