MORRISTOWN, NJ — As good as their orchestration is, the nonprofit Hanover Wind Symphony could not arrange for the recent nor’easter to avoid striking the area and forcing the postponement of the musical group’s “Brass at the Bickford” concert in March. So the event — featuring great music for brass band and brass ensemble, transcribed for wind band — has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bickford Theatre in the Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown. Maplewood’s Lynn Grice, an oboist, will be among the performers.

“The wind band is a versatile and flexible ensemble that has a great deal of wonderful literature written for it,” HWS musical director and conductor Matthew Paterno of Parsippany said. “This concert features some great music that originally comes from the repertoire of brass band, brass ensemble and even orchestra. These transcriptions allow us in the wind band world to experience these incredible works in our medium.”
