SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Black Crown Initiate, a progressive metal band from Reading, Pa., stopped by the WSOU 89.5 FM studios on June 28 for an interview with Mike Colantuoni, WSOU’s music director. Guitarist/clean vocalist Andy Thomas and drummer Jesse Beahler commented on the writing process and meaning of their latest album “Selves We Cannot Forgive,” their upcoming tour with the band Ne Obliviscaris, touring tips, the logistics of crowdfunding, and the pros and cons of streaming services.

“Having Black Crown Initiate at WSOU was an incredible experience,” Colantuoni said in a press release. “I greatly value having newer, promising bands in our studios. WSOU is known for being tastemakers in the metal community, and I embrace that opportunity to provide our listeners an insider’s perspective to the music.”
