SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The public is invited to attend Seton Hall Weekend, Sept. 23 through 25. Activities include music and theater performances, sporting events, campus tours, food, carnival games, rides and more.
“Seton Hall Weekend is a university tradition that celebrates our close ties enjoyed by students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and the surrounding community,” events director Jennifer O’Sheal, who organizes the weekend, said in a press release
Kick off the weekend at the Seton Village Food Truck Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, on Irvington Avenue in South Orange. Hang with the Seton Hall Pirate and catch a glimpse of the 2016 Big East Tournament championship trophy.
Get a runner’s view of campus by participating in the 32nd annual Farinella 5K Run at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Farinella Gate Starting Line.
All attendees are encouraged to participate in the Division of Volunteer Efforts’ University Weekend Philanthropy Project. Attendees can bring care package items or donate online. Items needed include men’s socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, sanitary napkins, bar soap and winter gloves. In addition to bringing care package items, stop by the DOVE table on the Green to assist in assembling care packages for families in need. All care packages will be delivered to St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen in Newark.
