WEST ORANGE, NJ — Donald Shauger, executive vice president of The Shauger Group, will serve as the grand marshal of the 2018 West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade. On Sunday, Feb. 18, Shauger was officially sworn in as grand marshal at the 2018 West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade Investiture Ceremony at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, and Sean McGinley, Brad Squires and Robert Lynch were sworn in as deputy grand marshals.

“Thank you so much to the West Orange Parade Committee and the West Orange community for this tremendous honor. I am not sure I could ever fully express the depth of my gratitude,” Shauger said at the investiture ceremony. “Some of my most vivid childhood memories center around the tradition of the West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

“I have so many great memories of the parade: the marching bands, the fire trucks, dressing head to toe in green, marching in the parade, or gathering to watch it by the Mobile and Carvel on Main Street. But above all, the community bonding is what stands out,” he continued. “The West Orange Parade has always been more than just a parade. It’s a symbol of friendship and unity. It brings people together.
Whether it reunites old friends or starts new friendships — it unites people over their love of West Orange and what this great community represents. The parade reminds us of what makes West Orange so special.

“On March 11, it will be my privilege to lead West Orange, my hometown, as we celebrate this historic tradition — and I am thankful to everyone who made it possible for me to be standing here today as the 2018 parade grand marshal,” he concluded.
