‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ makes a sweet surprise at Edison MS

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Edison Middle School Drama Club presented ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ on April 20 and 21, making a family-friendly sweet treat not to be missed.

Following on heels of West Orange High School’s production of “In the Heights,” Edison took on Roald Dahl and Willy Wonka in a lively version that featured well-known songs like “Pure Imagination” and “The Candy Man.”

The show was directed by Molly Eisen, with musical direction by Bonnie Pomeroy and set design by Melanie Racanelli.

Cast members included Sean Harrington, Dylan Suriano-Garland, Makayla Opoku, Rosie Slaten, Alaina Kelly-Terry, Nakhayla Green, Mikayla Nathan, Justice Cillo Smith, Sophia Jacob, Sophia Rowan, Reed Kibutu, Joelle Robertson, Alicia Germain, Joshua Elgin, Cal Redwine, Olivia Lambert, Takara Byrum, Kayla McDaniel, Avery Suriano-Garland, Greggory Davis, Svara Bhatnager, Reign Bracey, Kirsten Coxe, Zoe Perlman, Madison Abdus Sabur, Brooke Davis, Hannah Florendo and Christina Pariona-Ore.

Stage managers were Daniella Charro, Dorinda Destine, Brielle Grant and Olivia Raymond.
