WEST ORANGE, NJ — Students in the Digital Music Production Club have produced an original all student produced “Mountaineers School Spirit Song” as part of their club activities.

Students Jon Montuma, Jaquan Smith, Isiah Baskerville, Loucille Magloire and Mazen Dahroug visited club adviser Tyrone Corbett’s professional recording studio on May 18 to record vocals and beats for the Mountaineers School Spirit Song they are working on. This year students will produce a video and learn about the copyrighting process for the song and video.

“The goal of the Digital Music Production Club is to allow students to gain understanding of the areas in the music industry that can be viable pathways to employment and career opportunities besides being a recording artist,” Corbett said. “If students are interested in the music industry, this club is perfect for them. We have a fully-functioning production lab with all the latest hardware and software applications as well as digital drums, guitars and microphones for recording.”

“This is a great club because it is relevant to our students and learning the industry standards is important,” Principal Hayden Moore said. “We have the proper equipment and right person in Mr. Corbett to accomplish that. We are very proud of what our students in the club have learned thus far.”
