MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Award-winning musician Stephane Wrembel’s presentation of Django A Gogo 2018, a week-long celebration of legendary gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, includes three shows at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road in Maplewood; a music camp from May 1 through 6; and an all-star concert at The Town Hall in Manhattan on Saturday, May 5.
At The Woodland on Wednesday, May 2, at 8 p.m., Wremble will present “Django and the Gypsies: A Thousand Year Musical Journey from India to Europe,” featuring Josh Kaye, special guests andWrembel’s band, composed of Thor Jensen, Ari Folman-Cohen, Nick Anderson and Nick Driscoll. On Thursday, May 3, at 8 p.m., enjoy “Daisy Castro’s Hot Club, a tribute to Stephane Grappelli and The Hot Club of France,” featuring violinist Daisy Castro, Pierre“KAMLO” Barre, Sara L’Abriola, Josh Kaye and Ari Folman-Cohen.
