WSOU to air special programming over Labor Day weekend

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — WSOU 89.5 FM is heading back to school this Labor Day with an A-to-Z-themed weekend. Beginning Friday, Sept. 2, at 6 a.m., WSOU will be playing the bands in their music library in alphabetical order, beginning with A Day to Remember and ending with Zao on Monday evening. Every letter has at least one band and listeners will hear artists old and new, including After the Burial, Baroness, Beartooth, Clutch, Deaf Heaven, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Marmozets, Mastodon, Metallica, Norma Jean, Overkill, Pantera, Protest the Hero, Rammstein, Slipknot, Thank You Scientist, Tool, Volbeat and Unearth. As WSOU strolls through the alphabet, special note will be made of the bands who got their start on the station as part of 89.5 FM’s ongoing celebration of the 30th anniversary of its current loud rock format.

During WSOU’s A to Z countdown, listeners will have the chance to win tickets to the Revolution Rock Festival in Connecticut on Sept. 17 and the Rock Carnival in New Jersey, which runs from Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.

WSOU is the student-run radio station of Seton Hall University. More information about the station can be found online at www.wsou.net.
