NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Rasheen Scott, 40, according to a June 21 press release.
On Monday, June 21, Scott was shot on the 500 block of S. 17th Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
