NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Maurice Hudson, 43, according to an April 26 press release from the ECPO.
On Friday, April 23, Hudson was fatally shot in a park located on the 500 block of Clinton Avenue in Newark. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.
The incident does not appear to be random. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
