ORANGE, NJ — The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Orange Police Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident that resulted in the death of Dilonna Mauricio, 60, of Orange, according to an Oct. 2 press release from the ECPO.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, at approximately 5:46 a.m., Mauricio was crossing High Street near the Park Avenue intersection in Orange when she was struck by a driver of an Acura MDX.
She was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where she was pronounced dead at 6:20 a.m.
The driver of the Acura remained at the scene.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No charges have been filed against the driver.
