64-year-old Newark man stabbed to death

NEWARK, NJ — Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced Jan. 3 that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the death of 64-year-old Jose A. Rolon.

Police were summoned to his apartment after friends were unable to reach Rolon. He was discovered with an apparent stab wound on Dec. 28. He was pronounced dead at his home in the 200 block of Woodside Avenue on Jan. 2 at 7:31 p.m.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing.
