Crime Stoppers reward offered in fatal hit and run

NEWARK, NJ — Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II announced Dec. 22 that Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident.

On the evening of Nov. 6, Kenneth Felton, 55, of Newark, was struck by an unknown vehicle while riding his bicycle on Madison Avenue between South 11th and South 12th streets in Newark. 

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident and was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.
