Five hurt — one fatally — in Newark shooting

NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating a multiple shooting incident in which one person sustained fatal injuries, according to a Nov. 20 press release from the prosecutor’s office.

On Monday, Nov. 18, at approximately 6:39 p.m., Hassan Webb, 49, of Newark, was fatally shot on the 100 block of South 8th Street in Newark. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other victims were also shot. Three were taken to University Hospital, where they remain in stable condition. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
