Fugitive Apprehension Team arrests Newark man wanted for robbery

NEWARK, NJ — Members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team have arrested Jerrez Wagner, 27, of Newark, who was wanted for a robbery that occurred on Friday, Nov. 3.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., a man was robbed by two black males at gunpoint at 86 Sussex Ave. The suspects fled on foot, heading southbound on Nesbit Street.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Wagner as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy to commit robbery. F.A.T. detectives arrested Wagner on Monday, Nov. 20, without incident.

The investigation is ongoing as at least one other suspect remains at large.

F.A.T. detectives also arrested Rajohn Blakewood, 26, of Newark, who was wanted for contempt of court on an outstanding warrant and for questioning in a separate robbery that occurred in Newark.
