IRVINGTON, NJ — The Irvington Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the fatal shooting of Maurice Stevens Jr., 37, of Irvington, according to a Sept. 15 press release from the prosecutor’s office.
Stevens was shot Saturday, Sept. 12, at approximately 11:46 p.m. at a residence on 39th Street in Irvington. Stevens was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, Sept. 13, at approximately 12:34 a.m.
No arrests have been. The investigation is active and ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
