ORANGE, NJ — The Orange Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal shooting.
On Sunday, Aug. 26, at approximately 10:35 a.m., the body of Michael S. Boyd, 46, of Orange was discovered in a vacant lot in the 100 block of Matthews Street in Orange, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:23 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. So far, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
