NEWARK, NJ — Kyree J. Miller, 23, and Kareem Barnes, 24, both of Newark, were arrested for a shooting that occurred on Monday, Oct. 17.
At approximately 10:39 a.m., police responded to the area of Clinton Place and St. James Place on a call of shots fired. Officers discovered two vehicles that had been struck by gunfire at the scene.
After an intense investigation, detectives discovered that a male victim was shot at by two armed suspects who arrived in the area in a vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle.
Detectives determined that Kyree J. Miller and Kareem Barnes are suspects in this shooting. Judge Marvin Adames issued a $200,000 warrant for each suspect.
Detectives of the 5th Precinct arrested both suspects on Friday, Nov. 11. Miller and Barnes are each charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
