NEWARK, NJ — Members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested George Aponte, 36, Edgar J. Ramirez, 25, and Silverio Perez, 37, each of Newark, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in connection with a robbery that occurred on Friday, Oct. 14.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., a 29-year old male victim left a bar on North 7th Street with two men he met there to have drinks at another location. The three men entered a vehicle driven by one of the suspects, who ordered the victim out of the car in the 400-block of Lake Street.
The suspect and second passenger exited the suspect’s vehicle and demanded the victim’s money. A third male suspect exited another vehicle and all three began punching the victim, taking his cash and personal items.
As a result of their investigation, detectives determined that Aponte, Ramirez and Perez are suspects in this robbery.
Arrest warrants were issued and F.A.T. detectives apprehended and arrested each suspect without incident.
Aponte, Ramirez and Perez are each charged with robbery and conspiracy.
