Police Fugitive Apprehension Team arrests shooting suspect

NEWARK, NJ — Latesha Bittle, 27, of Newark, was arrested in connection with a shooting on Sunday, Oct. 30.

At approximately 5 p.m., Newark police responded to the area of Johnson Avenue and Stratford Place on a call of shots fired. A 28-year old female victim had been shot at.

As part of their investigation, detectives determined Bittle is a suspect in this shooting. A $200,000 arrest warrant was issued for Bittle, who agreed with detectives of the Fugitive Apprehension Team to turn herself in.

Bittle was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 10, and is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
