Advanced placement recognition ceremony honors scholars

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The annual West Orange High School advanced placement recognition ceremony on May 22 acknowledged students who excelled on AP exams in one or more subjects.

To be named an AP Scholar, students must receive a grades of 3 — out of a possible 5 — or higher on three or more AP exams. AP Scholars recognized were Andres Albavega, Robert Banks, Samuel Banks, Selam Bellete, Josette Blenman, Kristina Boafo, Melissa Callen, Ryan Carraha, Christopher Chopping, Alexander Choy, Trey Cohn, Bridget Cunningham, D’Aundra Delapenha, Aira Patricia Dolfo, Cameron Gart, Julian Gorring, Kelly Gouin Dominguez, Matthew Hascsak, Matigan Kohlman, Josephine Kravits, Katiana Lacroix, Sara Laine, Ariel Lee, Devin Lipsey, Umar Mahmood, Maire Murphy, Peter Powell, Noor Qureshi, Sophia Raines, Ramiro Reynaga, Abby Rosu, Adnan Salem, Emily Sanchez, Nerissa SantaCruz, Luis Soto, Kerry Su, Brian Temple, Mattison Touzeau, Lilian Umetiti, David Wood and Kevin Zeligson.

To be named an AP Scholar with Honor, students must receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. AP Scholars with Honor recognized were Arjun Abraham, Deborah Alabi, Gabriel Andrade, Aion Ashby, Catherine Brown, Samantha Dinio, Aishwarya Kanagala, Julia Lawrence, Jordan C. Lewis, Emily McCluskey, Katherine Meyerson, Melanie Pacheco, Ciara Racanelli, Lauren Rossman, William Schulmeister, Ruth Simon, Daniela Vargas, Cianna Weary and Meghan White.

To be named an AP Scholar with Distinction, students must receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
