Bank collecting for GR’s Freeman Gardens Association

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Every May, each Boiling Springs Savings Bank branch location hosts a Neighbors Helping Neighbors collection drive for a different local nonprofit organization in their Community Alliance Program. During the month of May, the Glen Ridge office, located at 222 Ridgewood Ave., is recognizing Freeman Gardens Association.

Organized in 1968, this non-profit association maintains and continually restores the beautiful formal gardens deeded to the borough by heirs of the late Clayton E. and Winifred Brownell Freeman, longtime residents and benefactors of Glen Ridge. In keeping with established tradition, this organization makes it possible for borough residents to enjoy a splendid facility at minimum cost to the taxpayers by raising necessary funds through private donations.

Boiling Springs Savings Bank is asking customers and members of the community to help Freeman Gardens Association by donating the following items between now and Tuesday, May 31:

• peat moss;
• garden soil;
• small bottles of water;
• Windex;
• bathroom cleaning products;
• paper towels; and
• toilet paper.

If you are interested in making a contribution, you may place your donation in a bin that will be located inside the Glen Ridge branch throughout the month of May during lobby hours.

Also, as part of the program, you may use Boiling Springs’ free coin-counting machine and donate your coins to Freeman Gardens Association on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. One hundred percent of your coin donation will be given to Freeman Gardens Association. Your generous donations will help them to continue their focus.
