NULTEY, NJ — Students of The Community School in Nutley and their families enjoyed their first “International Family Foods Night” on Friday, Feb. 10, in Fellowship Hall of St. Vincent Church, where the school is housed. Those in attendance were asked to bring prepared dishes representing their heritage.
More than 90 children and their families took part in the event. Beyond experiencing foods and desserts from 23 countries, the participants also shared insights about their cultural traditions and religions. Students and their parents joined in brief presentations on Islam, the Ramadan holiday, Chinese New Year, Diwal and Hanukkah, among others.
