Monday was a day to look skyward, with the proper eye protection, and the streets of Orange, in front of and around the high school, were filled with students, family, faculty and others looking to the heavens at a natural phenomenon. The peak time for the eclipse was about 3:24 p.m., not long after school let out. A similar event won’t happen locally until 2044.
