Glen Ridge police issue an alert to residents

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — This alert was released by Glen Ridge Police Chief Sheila Byron-Lagattuta
The Glen Ridge Police Department is currently investigating the report of an attempted armed robbery which took place on Outlook Place, close to Forest Avenue at 7:48 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3.

The suspect, who is described as a black male, wearing a red sweatshirt and armed with a handgun, demanded money from a couple who were out walking. Subsequently the man entered a dark colored sedan, which headed east on Outlook Place.

Additionally, the department is investigating an assault that took place in the area of 20 Stonehouse Road at 10:12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov, 4.
A pedestrian reports that while walking on the sidewalk, he was assaulted by a male subject who is described as a thin black male, 6 foot 2 inches in height. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The victim was punched multiple times in the face and upper body.
