Irvington man arrested for Newark murder

NEWARK, NJ — On Friday, Feb. 26, Rakeem Johnson, 35, of Irvington, was arrested for the murder of Abner Dominguez, 36, of Jersey City.

Dominguez was fatally shot in the vicinity of 93 Roseville Avenue in Newark on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Johnson has been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He has been processed and transported the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

Johnson is being held on $1 million bail set by Superior Court Judge John Zunic.
