LIVINGSTON, NJ — During Fire Prevention Month in October, Livingston Fire Department members visited The Early School of Temple B’nai Abraham with a firetruck and gear. Livingston Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Francione and Livingston firefighter Tracey Bent shared the annual safety message, as well as showed the students a firefighter in special firefighting gear. Particularly exciting for the students was when Bent, who is Temple B’nai Abraham’s facility manager, drove up in Engine No. 3.
Becoming comfortable with what a firefighter looks like in full gear is just one of the lessons. Francione led the fire-prevention discussion and demonstration for the children, and Bent dressed in firefighter gear and equipment. The goal is to familiarize children with firefighters before an emergency situation.
