Livingston police investigate social media threat

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Livingston Police Chief Craig M. Handschuch announced today, Sept. 13, that the Livingston Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a non-specific threat, making reference to Livingston High School, posted on social media.

At this point, the threat does not appear credible and authorities believe that no students are in danger, a statement from the prosecutor’s office read. Out of an abundance of caution, police presence at Livingston High School has been increased.
