WEST ORANGE, NJ — Liberty Middle School students in the Helping Hands Service Club paid a visit to the four kindergarten classes at Washington Elementary School on May 17 for the annual “Love of Reading” event.
Club adviser Jane Horwitz supervised LMS students as they took turns reading several books to each class. Kindergarten students were excited to listen to books they had never heard before and participate in the question-and-answer session after each book was read. Students then received their very own bookmarks to decorate with markers and stickers.
The finished products were as individual as each student. As a special bonus, each kindergarten student received a book of their own.
