WESTFIELD, NJ — Becky Sinden and South Orange resident Kathy Allen Roth, who serves as point person for Prevent Gun Violence with the Unitarian Church in Summit, participated in a peaceful sit-in at Rep. Leonard Lance’s district office in Westfield on Wednesday, July 6.

They joined with NJ Million Mom March Chapters of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, whose organization is hosting sit-ins across the country at congressional offices, and other everyday citizens who have “hit their limit” on the lack of strong gun violence prevention measures. They were demanding that Lance and other lawmakers allow a vote on federal legislation to expand Brady background checks to all gun sales and close the terror gap that allows persons on the no-fly list of suspected terrorists to continue to purchase guns.

Three of the protesters discussed these issues with staff members following the peaceful protest.
