MAPLEWOOD, NJ — In its 18th annual Michele Turner Martin Luther King Jr. Silent Peace March on Friday, Jan. 12, Maplewood Middle School students and staffed marched through Maplewood Village in complete silence. Approximately 800 members of the MMS community participated in the annual event held to honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Many students held signs they had made calling for peace, equality and justice. The march ended with the students returning to the school to say the Pledge of Allegiance together and to hear the choir sing.
