WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Mountain Top League held its fourth annual food drive on Nov. 21 to benefit the Holy Trinity Food Pantry; once again, the West Orange community came through in a big way!
In just more than two hours, the community donated more than 50 grocery bags filled with 49 turkeys, 10 chickens and meatless lasagnas, 150 frozen burgers, 32 packets of frozen hot dogs and more than 125 units of various canned goods. Additionally, the MTL Hockey program donated 210 pairs of socks, which were collected at the charity hockey game that took pace earlier in the year.
“This is an amazing community and I couldn’t be more happy to be part of it,” MTL Hockey trustee and parent Alexandra DeRonde said at the event, according to a press release. “The MTL House was the place to be tonight. We had people coming and going literally all night dropping off their donations, hanging out, and meeting new friends and neighbors. It was a great night.”
