Seton Hall University interim President Mary J. Meehan and Essex County College President Anthony E. Munroe sign an articulation agreement.
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Welcoming strategic academic partnerships, the Stillman School of Business of Seton Hall University has announced the signing of an articulation agreement with the Division of Business of Essex County College. The agreement enables Essex County College students graduating with an associate in science degree in finance, who apply and meet admissions standards, to pursue a bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in finance at the Stillman School.
“We look forward to welcoming the best and brightest from Essex County College to Seton Hall’s business programs. Forging academic partnerships, such as this new agreement with Essex County College, helps us bring significant educational value to students from our local community,” Joyce A. Strawser, dean of the Stillman School of Business, said in a press release.
“This is a mutually beneficial agreement. Seton Hall has a strong program and I look forward to many of our students completing their four-year degrees there,” Carlos Rivera, dean of business, industry and government at Essex County College, said in the release. “We took a good look at the program there. It’s rigorous and of very high quality. As an Accreditation Council for Business School and Programs accredited institution, that was very important to us.”
The finance concentration provides students with an understanding of both the individual investor level and the business/corporate level. Topics covered include the time value of money, capital budgeting, asset pricing, investments, portfolio analysis and derivatives.
Augustine A. Boakye, chairperson of Essex County College’s Business Division, helped to initiate and coordinate this agreement.
“Preparing students to complete their associate degrees and further ensuring their smooth transfer to a four-year institution is critical to us, the educators. I am certain that this partnership with Seton Hall will lead to many more collaborations to promote quality education and guidance for all our students,” he said in the release.
“We are happy to further strengthen our relationship with Essex County College,” Steven Lorenzet, Stillman associate dean for business academic services, said in the release. “We look forward to welcoming the Essex County College students to the Stillman community, and to extending a quality business education to a new generation of business students.”
