St. Valentine Carnival delights crowds of all ages

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — St Valentine’s Church held its annual carnival this past weekend. It was estimated the event is at 35 years old. The area off Broughton Avenue was once a Polish enclave and foods for the event, many homemade, reflected that culinary tradition. There were games for the kids, a 50/50 raffle for the adults and rides for the young-at-heart. Many in attendance came from nearby Nutley and Belleville. But others came from even further for the fun. And, of course, Bloomfield was especially well-represented.
