Three men indicted for WO murder of Orange man

NEWARK, NJ — Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today, July 14, that an Essex County Grand Jury has indicted Rasuan Foster, 29, of East Orange; Zaki Jones, 33, of Newark; and Jarret Mceachin, 29, of Orange for the murder of  Naji Everett, 26, of Orange.

In addition to murder, the four count indictment charges Foster, Jones and Mceachin with conspiracy, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The indictment alleges that on Dec. 17, 2015, in West Orange, Everett was fatally shot outside a residence in the 100 block of Joyce Street, right next to the Orange border. Everett was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m, according to Assistant Prosecutor Justin Edwab, who is handling the case.

Foster, Jones and Mceachin are all currently being held on $750,000 bail.

All three defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on July 25 before presiding Essex County Criminal Division Judge Ronald Wigler.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
