Township teacher hit by car, seriously injured

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A Washington Elementary School teacher was hit by a car at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, while crossing Pleasant Valley Way near West Orange High School, according to a release from the township.

Patricia Villarosa, 64, of West Orange, was crossing Pleasant Valley Way near Stanford Avenue when she was struck by a white, 2017 KIA. She was transported to Rutgers University Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

The driver, a 55-year-old West Orange man, remained at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the West Orange Police Department.
